Meet Mayra!

PhD Student

Mayra is a PhD student in Physics at the University of Florida. She earned her BS in Physics in her home country of Guatemala and later completed her MS in Physics at UF. Mayra has enjoyed teaching and mentoring students as a teaching assistant for differential equations, statistics, and physics courses, as well as a laboratory teaching assistant at UF. Most recently, she taught middle school science in an International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Mayra finds great joy in serving and helping students understand challenging concepts. When she’s not working, Mayra enjoys baking homemade bread and desserts and staying active through CrossFit and running.
